Meet Kareem Allam

Kareem Allam

Kareem Allam is the Vancouver Liberal candidate for Mayor of Vancouver in the 2026 civic election.

A lifelong Vancouverite, Kareem has spent more than 25 years engaged in Municipal, Provincial, and Federal governance. Currently a partner at Richardson Strategy Group, he is a former Director of Public Policy at the Vancouver Board of Trade and has held several senior Indigenous Relations roles on major infrastructure projects.

Kareem’s public service spans some of the region’s most critical institutions. He has served on the boards of the Fraser Health Authority and the BC College of Massage Therapists, contributing to decisions that directly affect community health and professional standards. He has also helped shape regional policy through roles with the TransLink Screening Panel, the Canada Border Services Agency’s Pacific Commercial Committee, and the Metro Vancouver Integrated Utility Management Committee—always bringing a practical, solutions-focused approach

Kareem and his wife, Heidi, along with their dog Oliver, have lived in Yaletown for 20 years.

“I’m running for mayor because I think I can do a better job [than the current Mayor],” Kareem Allam recently told Business in Vancouver. “I love this city and I’m not happy with its direction.”
